I studied chaos too much, and it looked back and winked

Our founder, Dr Gareth Kennedy, has long been interested in the concept of chaos leading to him completing a Ph.D. in applying chaos theory to astrophysics in 2008. He went into research positions in astrophysics, electrochemistry and geophysics but Chaos was not done with him yet. His first position was in Barcelona, Spain during the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) where he drew parallels between his work on the boundary between order and chaos in stellar dynamics and with instabilities in social systems. To pursue this idea what better place to see rapid social dynamics than China? So naturally he moved to Beijing in mid 2012 in time to see Xi Jinping come to power. In 2016, after realising that people do not come with equations, he moved to Shanghai and transitioned from academia into data science and artificial intelligence (AI). Returning to Australia at the end of 2018 he was a frequent speaker on data and AI as well as the ethics of AI under the European and Chinese data privacy models. Most recently he was a Specialist Director of Data & AI where he founded and grew a team that uses machine learning operations (ML Ops) to safeguard AI. During this time he has been developing the equations and AI components that now form the engine for ChaosNav. |
